WINTER BREAK MINI NEWSFLASH

DISMISSAL REMINDER: if you are late picking up your child at dismissal time please remember to enter the school from the front door. All students will be in the auditorium. Attempting to enter the building from the playground creates a safety issue for the school.
REMINDER: WINTER BREAK STARTS TOMORROW - FEB 16 - FEB 23
A reminder that Friday, February 16th is the first day of the winter break. Therefore, all PS10 sponsored after school academics, enrichment and clubs are cancelled for Thursday afternoon 2/15. PS10 Extended Day will be running all activities on Thursday afternoon.
REMINDER: Lice Check!
The PTA will conduct our second lice check of the school year immediately after the winter recess break. We ask each family to please donate $10 per child to be checked. If you are your family is able to sponsor another child it will be greatly appreciated. No child will be refused a lice check for lack of payment.
Please look for the lice check permission form in your child's yellow folder this week.

REMINDER TO KEEP READING OVER THE BREAK! READ-A-THON DOESN’T STOP WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT!
The annual PS10 Read-a-thon, a huge fundraiser for the school and a fun-filled month for all, is happening! Don’t forget to help students track their books and their minutes while gathering pledges for PS10. As you involve friends and family in sponsoring your child's reading, you can find sample letters and videos at http://ps10.org/readathon. *NEW* this year: your family has the option to log reading minutes digitally on the MoxieReader app if you choose! Download it and check it out. There is a code for each class that came home in your packets. Ask your class parents or check outside the PTA office if you need to locate your code.
REMINDER: PTA MEETING, WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 28TH
A reminder that there will be a PTA meeting at 6:00pm in the school auditorium. Come and hear what’s going on with the school from the administration and the PTA. Childcare and Pizza will be available in the cafeteria. We will also be streaming it via Facebook, so follow us on Facebook for that stream.
IT’S TIME! BUY TICKETS FOR THE 5th ANNUAL PROGRESSIVE DINNER.
This is an adults-only traveling party on March 3rd and it’s a great event. Meet other parents from different grades and get the inside scoop on PS10 from fellow parents. Each course will be held in a different neighboring PS10 family home with everyone convening for dessert at one final location. Each guest will receive a personalized itinerary for the evening—all you have to do is show up! Visit http://store.ps10.org/ to purchase tickets.

REMINDER: INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL
Screenings start over the break, so buy tickets now for the NY Int'l Children's Film Festival 2018. The festival will be showcasing the best new films for ages 3-18. This year the Festival is packed full of fantastic film programs for your family and, even better, our school earns $3 for every ticket you purchase! The Festival is back in Brooklyn this year! On Feb 25 and March 4th, it will be at the Alamo Drafthouse in Downtown Brooklyn.
