"Is it fancy?" "Do I have to bid on stuff?" "Isn't Mardi Gras in February?!"
You've seen the banners outside PS10. You've recycled the postcard that came home in your kid's yellow folder. But you may be wondering....
What IS this event on November 15?
An adults-only, Mardi Gras-themed party with your PS10 parent friends at Littlefield in Gowanus! Ticket includes OPEN BAR with wine, beer, and a specialty cocktail for most of the evening (cash bar open late-night!). Delicious cajun food from Gumbo Brothers will be served. Dr. Zsa’s Powdered Zydeco Band will perform, along with a DJ spinning dance music. Comedian Joe Larson will emcee. AND hundreds of amazing items and experiences will be auctioned off!
What should I wear?!
Whatever you want! We’ll provide beads and masks to jazz up your work attire, but feel free to go fancy or wild with creativity if that’s your thing. Don’t stress—laissez les bons temps roulez!
Do I have to bid on stuff?
Nah. Just come and party!
If I want to bid on stuff, but not come to the party... can I?
YES! The auction will be online (with the exception of a few Live Auction items), which means you can bid from your couch (though bidding with your friends at a bar is more fun—and these Live Auction items are not to be missed!).
How can I sign up to bid?
Register and create a bidder account by visiting https://www.charityauctionstoday.com/auctions/ps10-auction-2019-9104 and then clicking "Register to Bid.” You’ll be prompted to set up a profile, but you won't need to enter your credit card unless you decide to bid. If you already set up an account last year, you'll be able to bid with that account. We highly recommend you do this ahead of the event so you're ready to bid right away, but we'll have staff on site to walk you through the set-up process just in case.
Do I need to use my own phone, tablet, or computer to bid?
Yes. And this makes bidding super convenient—you'll receive live text and email updates about the auction throughout the night! We'll have charging stations available at the venue.
My mom / neighbor / pediatrician / barista wants to bid on auction items. Can they?
Yes! The auction will be public, so you can send the above auction link to anyone who'd like to bid remotely. We cannot ship physical items, so you may need to act as their point-person if they win something and they don't live locally.
When does the online auction go live?
One week before the event! Friday, November 8, 12pm. Start bidding and GET EXCITED! Auction closes at 10pm the night of the event, Friday, November 15.
Why are we doing all this?!
To raise money for PS10’s PTA! Every penny supports our programs. Did you know the PTA spends $375 per student each year, and pays for teacher's aides, music and science enrichment and chess in the classroom, and recess coaches? And so much more. To find out more about what the PTA funds, visit: https://www.ps10.org/pta-spending/
I’m sold! How can I buy tickets?
Buy online here: https://www.konstella.com/open/sales/5da73628e4b0a045e801d880, or stop by the PTA office right inside the Cafeteria to pay via cash or check. (And don't forget, tickets are cheaper if you buy in advance.) We can’t wait to see you there!
