When your child is sick....

Hi everyone, this is just to remind parents that when your child is sick , please keep them home from school for as long as needed. Parents worry about attendance problems, but we recognized when a child is ill that they need to be completely well to do their best at school. Here are a few things to consider;

  • Keep an in touch with your child's teacher. Assignments can be sent home if necessary.
  • If your child is sick for 3 or more days, we require a note from your family doctor.
  • If your child has vomited or has a fever, they must be clear of all symptoms for at least 24 hrs before sending them back to school.
  • Before sending your child back to school, make sure they feel well enough to participate even when symptoms have disappeared. It takes energy to get through a school day!

 Your child's attendance only becomes an issue if they have been consistently absent  from school.  If your child is sick, your caring for them at home is the best medicine.
