Dear PS 107 Families,
Here is today's case update. These cases were reported to me between yesterday at 3 pm and today at 3 pm:
- 5 positive cases reported between 3 pm Tuesday and 3 pm Wednesday
- 4 cases involved exposure to the school community, as the individuals testing positive were in the building yesterday
- 1 case did not involve exposure to the school community, as the individual has not been in the building since last week
- Unfortunately, I do not have today's attendance figures yet
All parents whose children were in classrooms of individuals testing positive received an email (NOT a Konstella) directly from me earlier today. If they have not already received test kits from the school this week, children will bring home test kits today.
If the cases also resulted in after-school exposures, parents will receive an email directly from Sandy Phillips.
Please note that if your child has recovered from COVID in the last 90 days, they do not need a test kit, and you should not administer the tests if they receive a kit. The DOE's Health Screening Questionnaire will be updated soon to reflect this possibility. If you have a test kit that you do not need, please have your child return it to school. Thank you!
The DOE's official notification letter to the community is attached.
As always, please reach out with questions or concerns. I am hopeful that the reduced case count today is reflective of an overall downward trend. Enormous thanks again for all of your support!
