Dear PS 107 Families,

I am writing to let you know that two members of the PS 107 community tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

These cases involved individuals who were in the school building this week. Parents of children who were directly affected received an email (NOT a Konstella) from me already.  These cases did not expose students in our after-school program.

If you did not receive an email directly from me, there is no further action that you need to take, other than keeping an eye out for possible COVID symptoms. I have attached the official DOE letter regarding these cases.

I am also attaching the presentation from today's Town Hall. If you were unable to attend and have any questions about the information in the presentation, please feel free to reach out.

This is on a slide in the presentation, but I will also highlight it here:

  • We currently have 20 student cases where students are still isolating
    • Only 5 of these cases involved exposure to other students in the building
    • The remaining 15 are students who did not return to school from the holiday break
  • We currently have 5 staff cases where staff are still isolating
    • 2 of these cases involved exposure to the school community
    • The remaining 3 staff members did not return to school from the holiday break
  • Student attendance has been better than the city average:
    • 80% on Wednesday
    • 83% on Thursday
    • 73% on Friday

It has been a challenging week to say the least, and I am so grateful to this community for all of your tremendous support! Have a wonderful weekend, and I wish you all good health.

My best,

Ms Joanna
