Dear PS 107 Families,

In the last 24 hours, I was notified of one positive case of COVID. Families of children who shared classroom space with the individual testing positive were notified directly by me via Operoo, earlier today. This case also involved exposure to the after-school community, and those families were notified earlier today by Sandy Phillips.

I would like to make this my final schoolwide COVID notification. All 107 families should already be receiving automated emails every evening from the DOE's Situation Room indicating how many positive cases were reported each day at PS 107. My COVID notifications continue to occupy a great deal of time, crowding out other pressing tasks. I have consulted with other principals in the area, and this is consistent with what they are doing as well. Since the automated notifications go out nightly from the Situation Room, these Konstella messages are feeling duplicative.

Of course, I will continue to notify families whose children shared classroom space with an individual testing positive. It is only these schoolwide notifications that I plan to stop. If you have particular concerns about this, please feel free to reach out.

Have a wonderful evening!
