[SCHOOLWIDE NOTIFICATION] Positive Case of COVID + Mask Guidance Clarification
Tue, Mar 8 5:21pm

Dear PS 107 Families,

Today, one positive case of COVID was reported to me. The individual testing positive was in the school building yesterday.

All families whose children who shared space with this individual were notified directly by me via email (NOT Konstella) earlier today and were sent home with at-home test kits. This case also involved exposure to some members of the after-school community who will be notified directly by Sandy Phillips.

I'd also like to clarify masking guidance following an exposure such as this one. Note that there is conflicting guidance on the DOE's Health Screening Questionnaire and the DOE's website. I confirmed that the policy is as follows (per the DOE's website):

"Masks are strongly recommended for any staff member or student who knows they have been exposed to COVID-19 within the previous 10 days."

Note that masks are strongly recommended following exposure, but not required.

I have attached the DOE's formal notification about this positive case. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Ms Joanna
