Dear PS 107 Families,

Over the weekend, six positive cases of COVID were reported to me. All individuals testing positive were last in the building on Friday, 4/1.

All families of students who shared classroom space with the individuals testing positive were notified directly by me over the weekend. One case did involve exposure to the afterschool community and parents have heard directly from Sandy Phillips about that. The DOE's official notification about these cases is attached.

We will be sending test kits home with students who shared classroom/afterschool space with the individuals testing positive tomorrow, Monday, 4/4. Weather-permitting, we will also be having students eat outdoors this week.

Beginning this week, when your child has shared classroom space with an individual testing positive for COVID, I will be sending my notification via Operoo instead of via email.

It was lovely to see so many of you at the City Council District 39 Participatory Budgeting Expo at the Armory this afternoon! Children who are 10 and under could cast votes for their favorite projects (though these votes don't count in the final tally), and I'm pleased to share that PS 107's Big Yard project received the most votes! If you haven't yet voted, be sure to do so online or with a paper ballot, which we hope to have available at school this week.

As always, please feel free reach out anytime!
