[SCHOOLWIDE NOTIFICATION] Two Positive Cases of COVID
Sat, Mar 12 5:26pm

Dear PS 107 Families,

Today, two more positive cases of COVID were reported to me. Both individuals testing positive were last in the school building on Friday, 3/11.

All families whose children who shared space with these individuals were notified directly by me via email (NOT Konstella) today and will be sent home with at-home test kits. These cases also involved exposure to some members of the after-school community who will be notified directly by Sandy Phillips.

It is concerning to see an uptick in cases following the lifting of the mask mandate. A few reminders about the COVID polices that are in place:

  • Per DOE guidance, we strongly recommend that students who are in close contact with an individual testing positive wear a well-fitting mask through Day 10 following exposure.
  • Students who are not fully vaccinated and are exposed outside of school must still quarantine following exposure. If your child is in this category, please reach out to Pamela Rosenberg to determine the length of your child's quarantine.
  • If students have symptoms of COVID, they may not attend school and must get tested for COVID, either with an at-home test or a lab test. Please review the Health Screening Questionnaire for specific details about testing if your child has COVID symptoms.
  • Please continue to report all positive COVID tests to me and to Pamela Rosenberg.

We hope these recent cases are bumps on the road, but we will remain vigilant and will inform you of additional steps we are considering to reduce possible transmission.

I have attached the DOE's formal notification about these positive cases. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

my best,

Ms Joanna
