AAPI Month @PS 107 - reminders and updates!

  1. AAPI Month Classroom Activities: In May, PS107 parent and author Ivy Tang will meet with pre-K to Grade 2 students to share her book, The Adventure of Yue Yue: The Mooncake. Upper grade students will have a chance to take part in a school visit and presentation from the Japanese Consulate.

  1. AAPI Trivia Card (due May 31): The AAPI trivia card was sent home this week and is also attached here. It asks students to name some famous AAPI icons! (Hint: They'll be on the walls of the school! They may also find quotes from AAPI classmates on these walls!) Students can fill in as many names as they can and hand in their completed trivia card at drop-off on May 31st for a small prize! And if any students want to be featured on the wall with their quote, please email rehana.mirza@gmail.com. It's not too late to share what being AAPI might mean to you!

  1. Freebies Giveaway (Monday, May 13 at morning arrival): Come grab some freebies to celebrate AAPI Month.

  1. Snack Sale (Friday, May 17 at dismissal): Come purchase Asian snack bags curated by the AAPI Committee. Proceeds will go to the Annual Fund.

  1. AAPI Month Reading List: Below is a list of book recommendations from PS107 families, written/illustrated by AAPI authors featuring AAPI characters. We even have book suggestions for adults. Happy reading!

  1. AAPI Families Meet up (Saturday, June 2, 2-5PM): We love to get together as a community! Come join us for our family meet up at Prospect Park. For more information to join this event, or to join the AAPI community at PS107, please contact Yumi Kobayashi at y@gmail.com.
