DOE KINDERGARTEN APPLICATION PERIOD OPENS THURSDAY, DEC 10TH
Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, December 10th, children born in 2016 can apply to Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year. The application deadline is Tuesday, January 19th, 2021. All families who apply by the deadline will receive a Kindergarten offer in April. All families should participate in kindergarten admissions, including children currently attending pre-K, students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and students with accessibility needs.
MySchools.nyc includes an online directory tool that allows families to explore program choices, save programs of interest and submit their application, all on the same site.
Read more about the Kindergarten application process HERE
PS 107 will be posting a virtual tour on the school website, PS107.ORG soon. We will let families know once the virtual tour is available for viewing.
All of our current PreK families must still apply for a seat in the PS 107 Kindergarten program and are given priority in the application process.
THE UPSIDE OF SCREENTIME: USING TECH TO ENHANCE YOUR CHILD'S SOCIAL WORLD
Tomorrow, Thursday, December 10th at 6:30PM hosted by PS 321
Screens have exploded into our kids' social worlds during this pandemic. While it's common to default to "this is bad, this is not childhood, this will rot their brains," speech-language pathologist and mindfulness teacher Susan Brennan makes a case for how technology, with guidelines and structure, can actually enhance and expand kids' interactions and social worlds, both remotely and in person.
$10 to $25 donation suggested but not required.
