Butterflies and A Book Club
Tue, Feb 1 4:04pm

As our children finish studying migration stories, we’re excited to share a way for families to share their immigration stories with our larger community!

Did you know that PS 107 now has a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Instagram page? Join us at https://www.instagram.com/dei_at_ps107/ and read about Ms. Joanna’s migration story!

We’d love to read about your family’s migration stories and see some photos. How did your family come here? What brought them here?  What adventures did they have? What hardships did they face? What were the obstacles they had to overcome? You can submit to the Instagram page using this link

Ms. Julie will be hanging up some butterfly wings in front of PS 107 representing your children’s study of Favianna Rodriguez’ art. Feel free to include a photo of yourself with the butterfly wings when you share your family’s story!

And, since we have your attention, we are gauging interest in a book club. We’d like to read Stamped (for Kids) and then use the book as a tool for talking to our children about race. Interested? Please email Sompon (sompon@ps107.org) for details.

Also, wishing a happy year of the Tiger to all celebrating Lunar New Year!

In solidarity,

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
