“One Special Parrot: The Story of Calixte” is complete!
"One Special Parrot: The Story of Calixte" by the P.S. 107 fifth grade is about an endangered African gray parrot, who was rescued and rehabilitated at a sanctuary in the Congo. There Calixte, whose name means beautiful, lives with other parrots and looks forward to the day when he’s healthy enough to soar free again. Read all about his incredible journey, which was written and illustrated by our talented fifth graders with input from the Wildlife Conservation Society.

Pre-order via this LINK for $10 — or look for a flyer in your child’s folder — by May 30th. Books will be also sold during First Friday, as well as after school, on June 1. Pre-ordered books will be distributed by June 1 to your child’s classroom.

The year-long project was a collaboration between P.S. 107’s Beast Relief committee and the Wildlife Conservation Society. All proceeds will go directly to the Wildlife Conservation Society African gray parrot rescue and rehab program.
