Hello PS 107 families!
We hope everyone had a smooth transition back to school. The Community Outreach Committee is thrilled to kick off this school year and looking forward to fostering the community spirit and service culture at PS 107 throughout the year. You can expect some more information regarding volunteer activities, community partnerships, and fundraising events for the greater community needs in the coming weeks.
With the spirit of community in mind, throughout the year, we may reach out when families in the community are in need and/or when there are particular events that trigger a quick response. That said, one of our of PS 107 families is in need of clothing and shoes for their child for the coming year. The family has an Amazon wishlist, and the items will be shipped directly to them anonymously. We encourage the community to band together in support for the family by taking a look at the wishlist and supporting however you can.
For the families that are new to PS 107 - welcome! It was great to meet our newest families of PS 107 at the welcome breakfast last week. We encourage all families to get involved throughout the school year. If you're interested in volunteering or want to learn more, reach out to us at anytime! We welcome all ideas and questions - your support makes the committee and our efforts more meaningful and impactful.
Who are we?
The PS 107 Community Outreach Committee strives to cultivate a service-minded culture. Our school families and children of all ages are encouraged to participate in Community Outreach events. Opportunities include food or supply drives, volunteer events, fundraising activities for the community and other charitable organizations, and building relationships with our sister school, PS 169.
Each year, we plan a series of core events that include:
- Fall Festival Book Drive
- Clothing Drive
- Food Donation and Deliveries
- Holiday Gift Drive
- Prospect Park Clean-ups
We also encourage the PS 107 community to participate in community events that are sponsored outside of the school (communicated via our monthly newsletters). The Community Outreach Committee often partners with our Diversity Committee, the Afterschool Program, and our teachers and staff to foster the spirit of community and instill a culture of service in our school community.
How can you contact us?
Reach out to us at any time via email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. For those interested in participating more regularly, reach out and we can add you to the Community Outreach Committee Konstella group.
As always, thank you!
Sarah & Brittany
