Reminder! The last clothing swap of the school year is happening this Saturday, June 14th from 10:30-12:30 at PS 124.
In order to donate clothing and houseware, you should plan to stay and help sort for a portion of the event.
Keep in mind:
ONLY bring items that are in-season, high quality, and in great condition (would you buy this second hand?)
Items that do not meet this high bar should be brought to textile recycling at a local farmer’s market. When you bring these items to the swap, you are asking the event volunteers to do labor for you.
Background: As a mutual aid group, we strongly believe that for these special events to continue, we need the support of community members to “dig in” and share in the labor of organizing and building community.
Given the ongoing challenges in the news cycle and the impact on PS 124 staff, students, and parents, we are using this event to emphasize how important it is to create a space where people feel safe, welcome, and open to build community.
Hope to see you on Saturday! Reach out to Julie Mee Schmidt with any questions, juliem@ps107.org
