Dear PS 107 Families,
Today, I was notified of one positive case of COVID. The individual testing positive was last in the building yesterday, 3/24.
Families of students who shared classroom space with this individual were notified directly by me earlier today (via email, not Konstella). As a reminder, the DOE strongly recommends that individuals exposed to positive cases of COVID wear well-fitting masks for 10 days following exposure. The DOE's official notification about this case is attached.
Today, all PS 107 students were sent home with COVID test kits, including students who recovered from COVID in the last 90 days. There have been a handful of cases where students have become reinfected within the 90-day period (though towards the end of it). We recommend the following testing schedule:
- Administer test #1 on Sunday evening or Monday morning before school
- Administer test #2 on Thursday evening or Friday morning before school
Testing is voluntary, and if you wish to return your children's test kits to school, you are welcome to do so.
Finally, there have been some changes to the DOE's Health Screening Questionnaire that I would like to share with you. I will review them at a brief lunchtime Town Hall on Monday, 3/28 at 12 pm on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85638032221?pwd=UXRBV2tiL1dSQTEzTTMrYUFpRHlVdz09
Here's to a lovely, COVID-free weekend to the PS 107 community!
