Dear PS 107 Families,
Today, I was informed of 1 positive case of COVID. The individual testing positive was last in the building on Friday, 3/25. All families of students who shared classroom space with the individual testing positive were notified directly by me earlier today, via email. This case did not involve exposure to the afterschool community.
The DOE's official notification about this case is attached.
Today, I also held a very brief Town Hall to discuss some updates to the DOE's Health Screening Questionnaire. Among those that you should be aware of:
- If a student has COVID symptoms and tests negative on a COVID test, they should still wear a well-fitting mask upon their return to school, through Day 10 following symptom onset.
- If a student is not fully vaccinated and is exposed to COVID outside of school, they must quarantine for 5 full days. They may return on Day 6.
- The mask mandate for PreK is being lifted on Monday, April 4th.
Please take a look at the attached presentation for specific details about the Health Screening Questionnaire and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Finally, the New York State English Language Arts test for students in grades 3 through 5 is tomorrow and Wednesday. At this point, the best preparation for the test is to get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast tomorrow morning. Good luck to all of our students who are taking the test!
Have a lovely evening, and let's hope that we see a return to warmer temperatures soon.
