Do Some Good On MLK Day
Fri, Jan 17 1:40pm

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is honored nationwide as an opportunity to remember the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

If you are looking for opportunities to volunteer, here are links to some Day of Service activities for families:

  • Repair the World : This organization offers a variety of family-friendly volunteer activities, many on MLK day.

You can look up service opportunities by zip code at the Corporation for National and Community Service (note: not all opportunities are for families) or at the Mayor’s Service website.

Thank you and have a great (and giving) MLK Day!
