Earth Day, kid quotes, upcoming events!

Today is Earth Day, and there is no better time to take on new green habits!

Some inspiration from our own PS107 kids, overheard at our park clean-ups in March/April:

  • “Wow, we should never bring this kind of confetti to the park.”

  • “There are too many plastic bottle caps. That’s all I’m picking up.”

  • “Balloons leave a lot of little pieces.”

Coming up!

  1. Fri 4/25 (and 5/2) - Terracycle and Art Day collection (and 5/2): Bring your collected Terracycle items -- We are collecting squeezy pouches (any brand), worn-out socks, and torn-stained (non-donatable) kids clothing. These will earn points for supporting orgs.

    • 🎨 New addition 🎨 -- For Art Day, we are also collecting small glass bottles/jars (clean and with the labels removed).

  2. Sat 4/26 - Recycle e-waste at the farmer’s market near Stone Park / JJ Byrne (10-2). Not school affiliated, info below.

  3. Sun May 4 - Park clean up! Sign-up here. There’s plenty of spots now available!

  4. Read, anytime! Our committee has curated a list of recommended books (below). We read each of these and can attest to them being wonderful. There is something for all ages. These make great library check-outs and gifts for all those spring birthdays.

Take good care of the Earth, and it will take good care of us!

Here is a longer list of books (we haven’t read them all) for those interested as well. We will continue to grow this, so please share any suggestions!
