PS 169 - The Sunset Park School and The Center for Family Life are pleased to invite you to a screening of the award-winning film, En el Septimo Dia, this Friday, 12/7 at 5:45 pm in the PS 169 Auditorium, 4305 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11232.

En el Septimo Dia was filmed in Sunset Park and surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods and features actors from the community. The film follows a group of undocumented immigrants living in Sunset Park over the course of 7 days. It provides a compassionate look at the "everyday challenges and small triumphs of its characters" (from Cinema Guild's film synopsis).

Not only will acclaimed director Jim McKay be in attendance, but so will several of the actors, who will describe their experience making the film. In addition, one of the actors, Genoel Ramirez, is part of the Danza Azteca Chichimeca troupe that will perform a traditional Toltec-Chichimeca (indigenous Mexican) dance before the screening.

This event is free and open to the public! Note that the film is not appropriate for children. The film is in Spanish and English, and PS 169 will also provide simultaneous interpretation in Mandarin.

All details are on the attached flyers. Please reach out to PS 169 Assistant Principal Joanna Cohen at jcohen72@schools.nyc.gov with any questions about this event.
