FULL TIME INSTRUCTION BEGINS!
Thu, Apr 22 1:39pm

Dear PS107 Families,

I apologize for the serious delay sharing our plan with you. Due to a technicality, our plan took longer to approve than expected. I am VERY happy to finally be able to announce that our roll out plan to move to full time instruction is approved and will begin next week!

The roll out will take place over several days to transition students one or two grades at a time. While this is an exciting change for all, students may have some heightened emotions and feel some stress too.  (Our new in-person students have not been in the building for 14 months!) This roll out plan is an attempt to maintain a calm and stress-free learning environment for our students.

Here is the schedule for this transition:

Monday 4/26:

ALL Pre-K students return for full-time instruction (blended learning ends)

ALL 1st Grade students, including new in-person students, continue in full-time instruction

ALL Cohort B students, including new in-person Cohort B students (in grades K, 2-5)

Tuesday 4/27:

ALL Cohort A students, including new in-person Cohort A students (in grades K, 2-5)

Friday 4/30:

ALL 5th Grade students return for full-time instruction (blended learning ends)

ALL Cohort B students (grades K & 2)

Monday 5/3:

ALL Kindergarten students return for full-time instruction (blended learning ends)

ALL 2nd Grade students return for full-time instruction (blended learning ends)

5/3 - 6/25: FULL TIME INSTRUCTION FOR ALL IN-PERSON STUDENTS

Please understand that we have had to modify some schedules for lunch, yard play, and cluster classes to accommodate social distancing of 6ft.  Whenever possible, students may eat al fresco in the yard, but we have also opened the cafeteria and other rooms for indoor dining.

Water fountains will remain shut off but our two bottle fillers are still in service.

Eating snacks or any other reasons for unmasking will only take place outside or when appropriate distancing (6 ft.) can be maintained.

As always, our children’s health and safety is our top priority.  COVID-19 is still in charge!  Like it or not, positive results will still cause classroom closures or could even lead to a 10-day school shutdown.  PLEASE BE VIGILANT ABOUT FOLLOWING ALL HEALTH PROTOCOLS.  Please protect your child’s classroom by keeping your child home if he or she has a fever or is otherwise unwell.  If anyone in your family receives a positive test result, please contact us as soon as possible so we can work with you on your child's attendance.

I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the end of a difficult school year than to have the majority of our students back in the building. I am grateful for your patience with this process and for the enormous support you have continued to show us throughout this very challenging year.

Sincerely,

Eve
