Getting Ready for School
Wed, Sep 9 6:06pm

Dear PS107 Families,

I hope this email finds you well. Our teaching, office and custodial staff are working tirelessly to get ready for our reopening. There is still much to be done but we are getting there.

I'm writing to share a few things with you. Our school ventilation report was just released on the DOE website. It shows 14 classrooms and some other spaces (like adult bathrooms) that have non-operational exhaust fans. Although all of the classrooms have windows that open, the exhaust fans are necessary to exchange the stale air with fresh air. These fans must work in order to have students in the building.  Our Custodial Engineer has escalated the issue and has been assured that the fans will be fixed before September 21st. The Superintendent is aware of the situation and we feel confident the fans will be repaired in time for our reopening. I will keep you apprised as things develop.

Class assignments will be shared with you on Monday via Operoo.  I apologize once again for the delay getting this information to you. Your child's teacher will be in touch with you on Monday as well to introduce him/herself and to let you know the plan for the upcoming classroom and technology Orientation Days on Wednesday-Friday 9/16-9/18.

We'll be hosting several different Parent Orientation Meetings next week as well. On Monday 9/14 we'd like to invite PreK and Kindergarten parents to join us at 3pm, and on Tuesday 9/15 we'd like to invite parents of all Blended Learners (students attending in-person) to join us at 11am.  Also on Tuesday 9/15 we would like to invite all parents of students who receive special education support services to join us at 9am.  Pamela will send out the Zoom invitations shortly before the meetings.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
