Calling All Cooks!
Think you make the best pie or chili in Brooklyn? Your homemade pie or incredible batch of chili could be declared the finest in the hood. BUT you gotta be in it to win it, so enter your mouth watering pie and/or smokin' chili in this year's PS 107 Fall Festival Pie or Chili Contest.
Legendary chili eater Gersh Kuntzman is back this year to oversee the judging of which batch of chili reigns supreme. He is a proud PS 107 parent as well as parent alumni. Our pie contest will be judged by a local neighborhood pastry chef.
Remember, this is a fundraiser for PS 107, and we are charging $2 for a piece of pie, $5 for a bowl of your chili (or $10 as part of a tasting), so the more you make, the more money we raise!
Here are details on how to participate:
- Sign up below
- If you're bringing the heat, make at least 2 gallons of your chili. Come up with a recipe that will grab the eyes as well as the stomach. "Beef Chili" may be delicious, but people go mad for "Three pepper mango salsa chili with big pork chunks" or "Dale's Devil-Defeating Dastardly Dish"
- If you're brining the sweet, make and label your blue ribbon pie. You may enter more than one pie
- On the day of the Fall Festival bring your dish in a marked container no later than 11:30am
- Enjoy the rest of the Fall Festival as the accolades roll in
