Holiday Meals, P-EBT Assistance & Letter from the Chancellor
Wed, Dec 23 10:54am
Dear Families,
In a year like no other I still enjoy seeing all of your smiling faces every morning at school (yes, I can see you smile beneath your mask!) and I delight in seeing your children in their zoom classroom meetings from time to time when I pop in. While I know that some of you are finding this time incredibly challenging please know that your community is here for you and we want to help. Let us know if you need support.
If you haven't already done so please take a moment to say "Thank you" to your PTA Executive Board, The SLT and anyone at school who has volunteered for an outdoor shift on 14th street so the children can run and play. We are so grateful to everyone who partners with us to help the school community and beyond. However, we need new families to step up for each new school year. If you are able, please consider volunteering at school in a way that works for your family for the 21-22 school year. If you have any questions or want to learn more, feel free to contact me via email at
Wishing you all a safe and restful break. Enjoy the holidays if you celebrate and may the new year bring us to a better place in 2021.
Warm regards - Pamela

What families should do if they have not yet received Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) for Spring 2020
New York State has recently finished the initial distribution of P-EBT benefits for the past school year.  There are still many families who have not yet received their benefit for various reasons, such as a change in address.

Anyone who has not received this initial $420 distribution should complete the  We are assured that the State is following up on inquiries submitted through this form, though it may take some time to hear back.

Please Note: The State P-EBT helpline (1-833-452-0096) is not currently staffed and you will get an automated recording.

Status of P-EBT for the 2020-2021 School Year
As announced in October, the federal government extended P-EBT for the 2020-2021 school year.  New York State is in the process of submitting a plan to the federal government for distribution of these benefits.  We do not have a specific time frame for distribution of benefits but the state is projecting a March 2021 distribution date.  We will keep you informed as their plans become definite.
