Dear PS 107 Families,
The DOE's health screening form has changed, effective today, 10/4/2021. We have also updated it in Operoo, so you will be completing the revised health screener tomorrow morning, 10/5.
A few things to note:
- In question 1, the DOE is screening for 4 major symptoms: fever, cough, loss of taste/smell, and shortness of breath. If your child has any of these symptoms, you will need to keep them home and get them tested with a molecular test (as detailed in the screener), which is more commonly known as a PCR test. When a child has symptoms, negative rapid (antigen) tests are no longer acceptable as proof that they do not have COVID.
- In question 2, if your child has a positive diagnostic test, they may not come to school. A diagnostic test is either a rapid/antigen test OR a PCR/molecular test.
- In question 4, if your child is a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, they may take any kind of diagnostic test (rapid/antigen or PCR/molecular) on day 5 (or later) of their quarantine. If they receive a negative result, they may return to school on day 8 of the quarantine period. If they do not get tested, they may not return to school until after 10 days of quarantine.
