Our next school-wide Lice Check has been cancelled for this week, it will be rescheduled on a later day. 

Volunteers will help the professional lice company keep the students organized as they wait for their turn to be checked, and transport children down to the main office if needed. You can volunteer for an hour or two or for the whole morning. 

It is a relaxed environment; the professionals are wonderful! You will have the chance to meet every teacher in the school, see all the students, and meet new parents.

About Lice Checks
The PTA organizes four school-wide lice checks throughout the school year. The first lice check will be in September and subsequent checks will be after school holidays. The DOE has a “no head lice” policy for all NYC public schools, but no longer a “no nit” policy. Students found to have live head lice will be sent home and not allowed to return until they are lice-free. Students with nits and no evidence of live head lice will not be excluded from school. However, as a courtesy to parents, if your child is found to have nits during one of the lice checks, you will be informed.
