May 5 - May 9 is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week!! Sign Up To Help!
PS107

Greetings Families,

We are so excited to announce that the PS107 Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is May 5-9.  We need YOUR help to ensure this is a week that truly lets our teachers, staff, and administrators know how much we adore them!

Below is the outline of the week and the volunteer needs for each day. Please sign up directly below!  Please also encourage your children to make handmade appreciation cards, drawings, or notes for teachers, staff members, or generic to the school.  Please drop off cards in the office any time throughout the week.

Monday 5/5:  Staff T-Shirt Day!

Each teacher will be given a specially designed school staff t-shirt, along with a note to help tease their goodies for the rest of the week.  (Thanks to Daniel Fried, Kate Segal, and Rebecca Cetta for designing and helping with this!)

Tuesday 5/6:  Winner & Wonder Treats!
Winner Breakfast and coffee for all of the staff will be accompanied by delicious pies around lunch time courtesy of Wonder.

Volunteer Needs:

  • (2) Set up for breakfast (7:30 - 8:15) and (2) Set up for pies (10:30-11:15)
  • (2) Breakdown breakfast (10:00 - 10:30) and (2) Breakdown pies (1-1:30)
Wednesday 5/7:  Slow Down & Savor the Good Stuff!
A satchel of goodies will be given to all of the staff, containing a mug, tea, coffee shop gift card, chocolate, and a notebook.

Thursday 5/8: Self Care Is Key!
A second satchel will be given, including a scented candle, eyemask, lip balm,  and shower steamer.

Friday 5/9: Thank You Potluck!
Breakfast and lunch will be provided, potluck-style. Many volunteer needs on this day, please do what you can!

You can begin dropping off items in the office at 7:45 a.m. and at any time through lunch.  Please make sure that all items are clearly marked as there are nut, dairy, and gluten allergies in the building. Containers and serving dishes will be available for pickup at the end of the day in the main office. If bringing lunch items, please try and bring them mid-morning as refrigerator space is very limited.

And some Green Committee tips!

  • Homemade dishes: Bring in your own dishware, labeled. If you need to bring it in something disposable, opt for aluminum trays… those are easily and efficiently recycled. Either way, use aluminum foil for covering instead of plastic wrap.
  • Store-bought foods: Minimize plastic packaging as best possible. Purchase food in sustainable packaging versus disposable plastic clamshells or platters, e.g. paper boxes for baked goods or paper bags of bagels; we have serving platters in the PTA closet, or you can use your own.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Elaine, Angela, or Alma.

Thank you!
