Dear PS107 Families,
Many of you saw the article in Tuesday’s NY Times regarding the pending lawsuit against the DOE regarding a former PS107 kindergarten student. While I am not able to speak directly about the case, I want to assure you that we take great pride in the supportive and nurturing environment we create for all of our students and families, and the strong parent community we actively embrace.
As you know, we are a “No Place for Hate” school. We take that pledge of tolerance and respect for all seriously. Our Diversity Committee, made up of teachers, parents, SLT members, and administration, plays a vital role in crafting how we respond to and build awareness of diversity both within and outside our building.
These are the principles we stand for and will continue to value in our school community.
Please let me know if you'd like to meet to discuss this further.
