Hi everyone-

As we head into Thanksgiving break and then year end, we would like to ask for volunteers to help with planning and/or execution of PS 107’s Black History Month in February 2024. 

You can commit as much time as you can provide. The planning committee will be co-led by Tre Johnson (Dad to Celia, grade 1 and Ava grade 4) and Lekan Ayanbule (Dad to Derin grade 1 and Funsho grade 3).  Please email Tre (Mr.e.johnsoniii@gmail.com) and Lekan (Layanbule@gmail.com) if you are interested in participating.

Planning can include Zoom calls/WhatsApp texts to brainstorm ideas, helping with content creation or helping with execution during PS 107’s Black History Month celebration in February. 

We will need a mix of volunteers. Examples of some activities under consideration: 

• Posters - this can be around specific people or cultural milestones
• Black History "Newsletter" to send home with the kids
• Cultural Perfomance
• Creating content for school morning announcements
