❄️ 1st - PS 124 Winter Coat Drive Kicks Off TODAY!
Our PS 124 Winter Coat Drive has begun! We have received specific requests from families and are asking for your help to fulfill them:
- 15 Coats for Children
- 23 Coats for Adults
Action Items:
- Check the Spreadsheet: Please see the attached spreadsheet for exact sizes needed.
- Donate with Dignity: We are prioritizing quality. Please only donate coats that are in EXCELLENT condition (no rips, stains, or damage). Our goal is to always donate with dignity.
- Purchase New: Guarantee a perfect fit and condition by purchasing a specific item from our Amazon Wish List here. Please update the spreadsheet to help us track the item needs.
To donate a coat, please reach out to our point person for this drive, Danny Fried (dannyfried@gmail.com) - dad to a 2nd grader and PreK-er.
DEADLINE is Friday, December 5th.
🧣 2nd - Winter Clothing Swap at PS 124 this Saturday, 11/22

Join us at PS 124’s Winter Clothing & Housewares Swap this Saturday, November 22nd, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
This is a mutual aid event open to the entire community! You are welcome to both donate clean, gently used winter clothing and "shop around" for things you or your family might need or like—no obligation to donate in order to receive.
Ways to Participate:
- Volunteer with Your Child: If you are able, please bring your child to help us sort and fold clothes at the event. They can earn their Clothing Drive Merit Pin from Aid & Action!
- Drop-Off Donations: If you only have time to drop items off, please ensure they are pre-sorted by size and gender to help our volunteers.
- Donation Guidelines: Please only bring clean, in-season, high-quality items in great conditions (ask yourself: Would I buy this second-hand?); all houseware should be in working order.
🎁 3rd - Help Make the Holidays Special for PS 169 Kindergarteners!
Following its annual tradition, the Aid & Action Committee will be providing a holiday gift to all kindergarteners at PS 169 (Ms. Joanna’s former school!) in December. This year's gift is an exciting Melissa & Doug sticker book, and all 110 have already been secured. We are aiming to elevate this offering by taking the time to individually wrap each of the 110 presents.
PS 107 Students – We Need Your Help!
You can earn your Action Volunteer Merit Pin by signing up to wrap just six of the Melissa and Doug sticker books. Sign up below.
- Pick-Up: We will hand out the sticker books during drop-off on Wednesday, November 26th and Monday, December 1st.
- Return: Please return the wrapped gifts to the Aid & Action Committee during drop-off on Monday, December 8th.
💌 Lastly - Spread Holiday Cheer: Our First Annual Cards of Cheer Campaign!
Get ready to make a difference right after the Thanksgiving break!
We are excited to launch our First Annual Cards of Cheer Campaign! We are looking for approximately 50 student volunteers to create beautiful holiday cards for the seniors at Heights and Hills. This is a wonderful way to spread joy throughout the community!
- Goal: Create cards to bring holiday cheer to local seniors.
- Volunteers Needed: Approximately 50 students.
Look out for more details and sign-up information in the coming weeks!
🛣️ Making a Difference, Your Way
