Hello Everyone!
The last week of summer has arrived and the Community Outreach Committee wants to give you a preview of the year ahead!
Here is our mission:
PS 107 is a School of Service. The Community Outreach team works to support the 107 community and its neighbors through community building events and deep listening, clothing and toy swaps, food drives and fund-raising. We amplify and adapt to the needs of our community. Our goal is to evolve, grow, and undo the systemic inequities in ourselves and existing structures.
Here's what we'll be doing, please volunteer with us! We need people who can donate time, cook, and haul/repurpose:
1) Weekly food collection and donations to CHiPs
2) This fall, collaborating with Latin Heritage Month & Fall Festival Team Leaders on community service projects in partnership with a) Our sister schools; b) Asylum seekers in Brooklyn; and c) PS 107's Green Team, including:
- Fall and winter clothing drives on 9/9 and 11/11 with PS124
- Book and Winter clothing drive 10/14
- PTA Fun Run for 10/28
- 5th Grade and after school service projects (November and December)

Spanish speakers to offer translation support
People with immigration law experience
