PS107 - Cafeteria

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to the 2019-2020 school year. We are so excited to get back in the Armory with the students and our wonderful parent helpers. Due to changes at the Armory and Physical Education standards, PE is going to look a little different this year. If at any time you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at our new PE email: pe@ps107.org

Traditionally, students ran their warmups and then had an option to run relays, play a game of the day, or play soccer. Our parent helpers and paraprofessionals were always helpful in organizing kids and keeping a close eye on games. This year, we are looking to move towards a more formal physical education program with a focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship taught over a variety of new units. We ask that you stick with us and be patient while we work out any anticipated and unanticipated kinks with this new program.

We still encourage and welcome parent helpers with the mindset that this may look a little different than years past. We will take the time during student warm ups to go over the lesson ahead with parent helpers and let you know how you can help during each particular lesson. We are going to have an information and training session that we encourage all parent helpers to attend on September 11th from 8:30-9:00. Again, if you have any questions prior to this please feel free to contact us via email at pe@ps107.org. We are looking forward to an exciting and active year ahead!

Best, Diane and Annie
