Dear PS107 Families,
The transition to remote learning over the last three and a half weeks has been challenging and has meant many adjustments for all of us. While we all looked forward to time off to reset and rebalance during the upcoming spring break, we understand that personal safety and well-being are paramount this time.
To that end, we have designed our remote learning plan for April 9th-17th around enrichment activities that are highly engaging for kids and families. Next week activities will be organized around daily themes, with an over-arching weekly theme of PS107 School Spirit (more on this in a bit). There will be no live instruction during this period, nor any work assigned. Students may follow the daily schedule, or select their preferred activities each day. Each of our cluster teachers will post daily enrichments for students to select from as well. And to remind us of the importance of service and kindness to others, especially at this very difficult time, Community Service and Acts of Kindness activities will also be incorporated daily.
We understand that many of you may decide to forego remote learning during all or some of this period. Please let your teacher know.
Our daily themes next week are:
Monday: PS107 Spirit Day (Brooklyn, Neighborhood & NYC)
Tuesday: STEM Day
Wednesday: Arts Day
Thursday: Around the World: Cultures & History
Friday: Fantastic Friday... Just for Fun!
Let's make the whole week a CELEBRATION of PS107 School Spirit!
Please help this effort by taking photos or videos all week of your kids and you in your PS107 gear sharing things you're doing to HAVE FUN! Please send your photos or videos to Ted McCagg at Ted@PS107.org. Let's see how creative we can get!
I wish you a peaceful holiday. Please be safe and stay strong.
