It’s hard to believe we’re more than halfway through the year! At this juncture, we want to share the current state of the Annual Fund - the PTA’s appeal for direct gifts from PS 107 families, and the largest revenue source in our budget. Our goal this year is $210,000. These dollars directly supplement PS 107’s budget, funding vital programs and day-to-day operations at our school.
Your support is so important, but don’t take our word for it:
"While it's true that your donations to the PTA help PS 107 students have a lot of extras (art and science residences, subsidized field trips, a smaller student:teacher ratio in 2nd grade), the unfortunate reality of New York City public schools' budgeting also means that your PTA donations fund the must-haves, like properly staffed classrooms, necessary classroom supplies, curriculum materials, and funds to pay substitute teachers. Looking ahead to next year, we anticipate another very lean budget year, and your donations will help our school run more smoothly and in a way that we believe is best for kids." —Principal Joanna Cohen
If you have not yet made your gift to the Annual Fund this year, please consider donating today. Now through February 14, donations are being matched dollar-for-dollar until we reach $5,000. Thank you to our anonymous matching donors!
So far, we have raised nearly $125K – 59% of our $210,000 goal.
While we are grateful for this progress and generosity among our families, by this time last year, we had already raised 73% of our comparable goal.
Meeting our Annual Fund goal sooner rather than later helps Ms. Joanna and the school leadership team when making plans for the months ahead.
PS 107 is a community that always shows up, whether in support of our sister schools and broader community, to learn about each other’s cultural backgrounds at Heritage Day, or investing in our children’s educational experience. We are confident that together, we will meet our Annual Fund goal too.
Every gift matters. YOUR gift matters.
