School News - Week of 4/20
Sun, Apr 19 6:55pm

Dear PS107 Families,

I hope Spirit Week and our daily themes last week helped lift your spirits and gave your family a welcome change of pace from the prior few weeks of remote learning. Huge thanks go to Ted McCagg for his always-funny daily posts, and for sharing some of the photos of enjoyable things we were doing to pass the time.

This week we are back to "normal" scheduling so please check your child's Google Classroom for meetings, assignments and Office Hours. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions about assignments. S/he will be happy to work with you to modify the work if necessary.

Two pieces of difficult news were shared by the Chancellor last week:

First, we learned that we will not be returning to our building this year. Though not a surprise, this is a hardship and great disappointment for everyone, especially our Class of 2020 graduates and their families.

Second, we learned that we can expect the budget for the remainder of this year and next to be slashed to a bare minimum because of the huge deficits facing the city and state.

We will have difficult decisions to make. It will be critically important that we work together to solve the problems we will face. It will be hard but I know we can do this.

We will be scheduling monthly School Leadership Team meetings once again, starting this month. I encourage you to reach out to your parent reps at if you have thoughts about the budget for next year.

I hope you and everyone in your home is well.
