Dear PS107 Families,
This has been a stressful week for all of us without doubt. School was in session today and at this point in time, we fully anticipate our doors will be open on Monday. I am very grateful for the support we received from across the district to help us create a semblance of normalcy for the students who came today.
Just to remind you, our custodial staff will continue to clean every surface in the building with an anti-viral solution on an augmented and rigorous cleaning schedule. Last night a deep cleaning was done in every room and hallway, including the kitchen, and this will be repeated over the weekend.
As we go forward, I urge you to keep your child at home if s/he is unwell, especially if a fever and cough are present. As per the most recent Department of Health information, your child should remain at home fever free without medication for 72 hours. As always, it is your decision whether to keep your child at home as a precaution against potential exposure to COVID-19. If you choose to do so, please let your child’s teacher and Pamela know. Your teacher will provide you with digital classroom materials and guidance.
The removal of the sidewalk sheds has allowed the sun to stream into the building once again, lighting up our hallways, offices and classrooms. As spring unfolds, this seems like a metaphor that speaks to power of light and goodness that is at the core of our school community. We will get through this difficult period and we will be stronger for it.
