School Supply Drive
Tue, Aug 17 11:20am

Hello 107 families!

As Ms. Joanna mentioned in her introductory email, the PTA Community Outreach Committee continues to develop our partnership with PS 169. We are very excited to have Ms. Joanna at PS 107 in a much different capacity this year - her support of and passion for the community outreach mission will be extremely impactful on our school community and overall culture of service.

To further support this mission, the first activity of the year is a SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE for the families and children of PS 169. There are similar efforts underway for other neighborhood organizations, so if you’ve already donated to those, that’s wonderful! If not, this is a great opportunity to support our PS 169 sister school directly.

If you would like to participate, we ask that you donate the following materials within a gently-used backpack:

  • Marble Notebook
  • Folder
  • Ruler
  • Kids scissors
  • Markers
  • Pencils

In addition, if you would like to donate other supplies such as cleaning supplies (wipes, hand sanitizer, etc.), unused school supplies from last school year, or books - we will collect these separately as well!

Collection times will be weekday nights: 8/24-8/26 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM and 8/31-9/2 from 5:00-6:30 PM (stoop dropoff at 916 8th Ave). If these do not work with your schedule, reach out to us directly and we can coordinate. There will be another set of drop off times sent out closer to Labor Day for those still out of town.

Looking ahead, we plan to share other ways to get involved in the partnership with PS169 as well as with the greater Brooklyn community. For example, our small scale grocery delivery service continues to provide food to those in need, and we would like to thank our volunteers for supporting and enabling this service for PS 169 families throughout the summer.

If you have any questions, ideas, or ways that you would like to become involved, please reach out to us directly at sarah@ps107.org and brittany@ps107.org.

We look forward to supporting our community in the school year ahead!

Thanks,

Sarah & Brittany
