September Clothing Swap Thank You!
Fri, Sep 15 8:51am

Thank you to everyone who participated at this year's first Clothing Swap with PS 124!

The Swap took place September 9th in sweltering heat at PS 124, located on 4th Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets. It was the first community event between our two schools.

The Community Outreach Committee will be supporting a second Swap with PS 124 on November 11, so please start setting aside your winter clothing and mark your calendar to help at the swap! Please note: Clothing must be washed, without rips or stains.  We're also in need of mens’ clothing and shoes (smaller sizes are best)!  A separate collection will also take place during Fall Fest.

More about PS124: PS 124 is a Title 1 school with 43% of students living in temporary housing (the local Women in Need or WIN shelters). In 2022, 9% of the student body were newly arrived migrants, a number which is rising quickly due to a new migrant shelter opening in the school’s zone. These swaps help provide clothes, shoes, and other items to our neighbors in need, many of whom are PS 124 families. (For those who remember PS107's relationship with PS 169, we are also continuing that relationship.)
