Dear PS 107 Families,
In the last 24 hours, five positive cases of COVID were reported to me. Four individuals testing positive were last in the building on Friday, 4/8, and one individual was last in the building on Thursday, 4/7 (this case did not expose the school community).
All families of students who shared classroom space with the individuals testing positive were notified directly by me via Operoo today. Test kits were sent home with students today. Some of these cases involved exposure to the afterschool community, and families will be notified directly by Sandy Phillips. The DOE's official notification about these cases is attached.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, 4/12, all PS 107 students will be sent home with 4 at-home COVID test kits. This is a DOE initiative to prevent the spread of COVID following the coming Spring Break. Each student only needs two tests and parents should administer tests using the following schedule:
- Administer Test #1 on Saturday, April 23rd
- Administer Test #2 twenty-four hours later, on Sunday, April 24th
Negative results do not need to be reported, but positive results must be shared with Pamela Rosenberg (email@example.com) and me (firstname.lastname@example.org). The additional two tests can be used by family members. Attached you will find a letter about this testing initiative from the DOE.
As well, if your child tests positive during the break, please notify Pamela and me so that we can advise on the isolation period for your child.
Wishing the entire PS 107 community a restful and enjoyable Spring Break (and a happy Pesach and happy Easter to those who celebrate)!
