Our first ever Summer Math-A-Thon starts this Monday and there is still time to sign up. The “summer slide” is real and students tend to regress more in math than any other subject, so the Math-A-Thon is here to help make math fun and engaging as well as review last year’s curriculum.
From August 19th to August 30th, students will face all kinds of math challenges and try to solve as many as they can. If they can help their grade collectively answer 5,000 math problems, then the entire grade will be rewarded with an ice cream party to start the year.
If your student loves math or just wants to be a hero to their entire grade, the first step is to sign up for an account online:
- Visit ForOurSchool.org and register
- Create a student profile (or switch to their profile and click “Join Fundraiser”)
- Enter our fundraiser code: 144985
- Select the grade that your child will be in for the 2024-2025 year
To get an early start, you can print worksheets (road trip activity?) or try some practice problems online.
