RAINBOW TAKEOVER

We’re thrilled to celebrate Pride Month with activities and learning that reflect our school’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to allyship with our LGBTQ+ staff, families, and students.  This week, all students will participate in our annual Rainbow Takeover during Art with Ms. Julie. Each class will collaboratively design large posters with messages of allyship and belonging, celebrating the beautiful diversity of our school community. These posters will be displayed on the school’s fences.  And don’t forget — our student Rainbow Club will be marching in the Brooklyn Pride Twilight Parade on Saturday, June 14th. We’d love for you to come out and cheer them on!

BIG YARD GAMES

On Monday, June 9th, each grade will spend a whole period taking part in PS 107's version of 'Field Day', featuring fun games for all. Volunteers will be needed to help supervise and guide students from one activity to the next. CHiPs FOOD DRIVE

CHiPS is a soup kitchen/food pantry located on 4th Avenue with over 600 people served daily.  Please bring donations Wednesdays during morning drop-off near the Main Entrance.

What to donate: (please label all prepared items)

  • Sandwiches - All Kinds (Ham/Cheese, Turkey/Cheese, Egg Salad, PBJ) 

  • Sliced Bread Packages

  • Lunch Meat packages

  • Eggs (fresh)

  • Tortillas

  • Prepared Meals (pasta, rice/beans, soup, pasta salad etc) Please pre-package in individual portions.

  • Microwaveable Meals - Instant Ramen, Rice & Beans Packets

  • Jelly Jars, Peanut Butter

  • Cereal/Instant Oatmeal Packets

  • Shelf Stable Milk & Juice Boxes

  • Fruit cups

  • Fresh Fruit (Oranges/Bananas, no apples please)

  • Individually Wrapped Snacks (Nuts, Beef Sticks, Crackers, Bars/Cookies)

  • To-go Containers & Sandwich Ziplock Baggies

  • Plastic Utensils spoons/forks

  • Fresh Direct Bags/Sturdy Bags

MATH MAGIC

Join us in the 4th floor art room for games, puzzles, worksheets, coffee, doughnuts, and Pi. All ages and proficiencies are welcome.  Parents must attend Math Magic with their children, and students cannot be released until 8:20 am.

SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETING

The SLT is a school steering committee that identifies and discusses issues such as curriculum, school procedures and policies, and future growth. It comprises the principal, the PTA president, a UFT representative, elected parents, and teachers. The SLT meets monthly at PS107 in working sessions that are open for all. Parents may request to present a topic or issue to the SLT by contacting their parent representatives. THURSDAY MORNING TRACK RUNS

Please join us for a morning group run for ALL students K-5 (grown up required for all runners).  The group will meet at the main school entrance at 7:00am.

GEAR SALE

Last chance to grab some PS 107 Gear for the Summer! Hats, Tees, and even Hoodies for the beach!  Sale will be Thursday June 12th at drop-off. 

PTA GENERAL MEETING

Please join us for the last PTA general meeting of the year on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30pm on Zoom.

PS 124 CLOTHING SWAP

On Saturday, June 14th, from 10:30am-12:30pm, please join our friends at PS 124 for our next seasonal clothing and housewares swap! As a mutual aid group, we strongly believe that for these special events to continue we need the support of community members to “dig in” and share in the labor. We are using this event to emphasize how important it is to create a space where people feel safe, welcome, and open to build community. If you would like to donate clothing and houseware, we hope you will also plan to stay and help sort for a portion of the event. Please keep in mind: ONLY bring items that are in-season, high quality, and in great condition. We hope to see you there!
