Just in case you missed it, we’re having a book fair! And it’s happening at Powerhouse on 8th NOW through March 15. Shop from specially curated books and Powerhouse will donate a portion of proceeds to the PTA. Just say you’re from 107 when you check out. Support our school and our locally owned independent bookshop—it’s a win-win! And foster your child’s love of reading—that’s a win-win-win! Click here for all the details.
Share your book fair finds with the community! Email a photo of your favorite book fair find to Amy at email@example.com and include why your child chose the book. Don’t know what books to buy? Be on the lookout for Facebook and Instagram posts to see what the PS 107 community recommends!
Friday, March 19, join PS 107 parent and nationally-ranked certified beer judge and award-winning homebrewer Jeremy Short as he walks us through a tasty group of 5-6 brews, fit for any beer novice or geek, from lagers to IPAs. All beers are hand-selected from 209 Station in Windsor Terrace (just off of Bartel-Pritchard Square, next to the Verizon store).
The cost is $40 per household/family to register plus the purchase of beer from 209 Station, which will be an additional $30-40 total for the 5-6 beers. The entire $40 registration fee goes straight to the PTA and 209 Station will also donate a portion of the sales from this event to the PS 107 PTA. Space is limited. We hope to see you there!
St Patrick's Day Run For PS 107 Afterschool!
This year, you can celebrate St Patrick's Day with a 5k run/fundraiser for the PS 107 Afterschool Program!
You can participate by:
- Running a Virtual 5K on your own time in your favorite place to run. Sign up/make payment through the Eventbrite site, run the race on a day/location of your choosing and send your finishing time to firstname.lastname@example.org. All Virtual 5K participants will receive a medal by mail after the race.
- Participating in the 5K bandit run in Prospect Park on Saturday, March 13th. Please sign up through the Eventbrite site. On March 13th, come to Center Drive (at the same location as the Reindeer Run) to sign-in at 1:30 pm. The race itself will begin at 2pm. (The starting line will be on Lake Drive but check in is on Center Drive. Look for the banner:) When you check in, you will be given green beads! This will be an informal 5K as we will not have an official timer but we will have people timing. ANYONE CAN RUN THIS – parents, siblings and friends included! (Parents, if your child is in 2nd grade or below please plan on having an adult run with your child for safety.) We will run the big loop and finish on Center Drive. All runners of the bandit run will receive a medal at track practice following the race or by mail. Additionally, we will have prizes for top 3 males and females in different age divisions (to be determined). This is a rain or shine (or snow!) event. A sign up list will go out soon for parent volunteer opportunities.
- If you don't want to run, you can still be part of our fundraising effort to help PS 107's Afterschool Program! Donate by going to our GoFundMe page.
The cost to participate either virtually or in-person is $35 and all of the proceeds will go to the 107 Afterschool Program. Participating virtually or in the bandit run will also count towards your track jacket.
If you have any questions, you can email Jenny May-Reddy at email@example.com.
Have a great week!
