Harvest Day is Wednesday!

Imagine this at Wednesday night’s dinner table:

“Mom, instead of plain noodles, can I do a kale salad with roasted beets?”

It could happen.

Because Harvest Day is this Wednesday, and it’s freakin’ magical.

Harvest Day is a one day event in which each class gets a chance to tour the cafeteria and taste all different food items related to the year’s harvest, from familiar vegetables to  new and more exotic items. We also have an apple tasting area, a fresh pressed juice zone and many other fantastic items.  All this topped off by a delicious, seasonal tasty dessert.

This is a parent-run event from start to finish, so please sign up to volunteer! There are options for every skill set, and of course plenty to do behind the scenes in the way of advanced day prep work, chopping and washing and slicing and dicing. So please, come one, come all, and lend a hand or two to help make this the great day that our children so very much enjoy.

We have over 40 empty volunteer slots so sign up here!

Eat & Greet Update

As usual, the response to the Eat & Greet has been overwhelming. In fact, it has been so big that we can only open up more seats/tickets if we get more dinner hosts and dessert hosts! If you are willing to host so we can accommodate more participants, or if you would like to be placed on the waiting list of guests if additional spots open up, please email Heidi at

Learning Friends
Are you looking to get involved in the PS107 community but aren't sure what to do? This might be the volunteer opportunity for you! Learning Friends is a unique volunteer opportunity that brings you in to work directly with a student during the school day.

What: Each volunteer will read with a 1st or 2nd grade student.

When: You pick the day of the week, 8:30-9 am, beginning in November and lasting all year.

Why: To instill confidence and a love of reading into these funny and sweet young readers.
Who: Parents and grandparents. No experience necessary! Just bring your love of books and sense of fun.
