THE DETAILS

School Leadership Team Meeting

The SLT is a school steering committee that identifies and discusses issues such as curriculum, school procedures and policies, and future growth. It comprises the principal, the PTA president, a UFT representative, elected parents, and teachers and is governed by bylaws which are reviewed and revised every two years. The SLT meets monthly in working sessions that are open for observation.  Learn more on the PS 107 website here.

Lice Checks

The PTA organizes school-wide lice checks as needed throughout the school year.  We ask families who can to submit a one-time payment of $15/student for these professional lice-checks. You can submit payment here. 

The DOE has a “no head lice” policy for all NYC public schools, but no longer a “no nit” policy. Students found to have live head lice will be sent home and not allowed to return until they are lice-free. Students with nits and no evidence of live head lice will not be excluded from school. However, as a courtesy to parents, if your child is found to have nits during one of the lice checks, you will be informed. 

Gym & Trip T-Shirts

At PS 107, it is strongly encouraged that students wear a school shirt on gym and trip days. T-shirts can be purchased here, and they will also be on sale outside of the school at drop-off on Thursday, September 19.  Is cost a concern? Chipotle Fundraiser

The PTA is partnering with the new Chipotle located at 192 Prospect Park West to host a fundraiser, where 25% of sales will go to PS 107!  

There are 4 ways to guarantee your purchases count:

• Show the cashier the attached digital flyer prior to paying 
• Show the cashier a printed version of the paper flyer prior to paying 
• Order online and pickup Chipotle for your fundraiser by using the Promo Code 6TTFLRL on the Chipotle app or website. Please note that fundraiser online ordering is only valid through pickup during your fundraiser’s scheduled date, time, and assigned restaurant. Ordering delivery for fundraisers is not permitted at this time.
