Volunteers Still Needed for the Brooklyn Marathon!

Hi PS107 families,

 

We hope everyone has been doing well navigating the tragic events of this week. In the spirit of Brooklyn community strength, we are still looking for volunteers to help with the Brooklyn Marathon on Sunday April 24th. There are 26,000 runners registered from over 37 countries around the world. In addition, there are 1,500 individual volunteers planning to support the event. What better way to support our community and show our school spirit than cheering on the runners (and providing them water!) at the finish line! 

 

We need 20 volunteers on site throughout the shifts in order raise $1,000 (and we're not quite there yet)!!

 

Sign up for a single shift, or multiple shifts if you can! Bagels and water will be offered to all volunteers.

 

Our task has shifted to support the fluid stations— we will be handing runners cups of water and Nuun (similar to Gatorade) after they receive finisher medals and heat sheets. Our station is still on Center Drive in Prospect Park, still at the Finish Line!

 

Waiver

All volunteers will need to sign a waiver ahead of Race Day: https://nycruns-goykd.formstack.com/forms/waiver

  

Attire

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring layers, as the weather in late April is quick to change. Also wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet/sticky, as we may be pouring pitchers of Nuun in addition to water.

 

Bags/Personal Items

Please do not bring large bags, backpacks, or other personal items, since there’s not a secure place to stash them (a slim carrier to hold a phone, wallet, etc. is ok).

  

Check-in Location Race Day: Check-in will be at the Volunteer Tent just outside the 16th Street entrance on the west side of Prospect Park. Here is a Google map link: 16th street & Prospect Park Southwest entrance, at the circle with the CitiBike dock
