Ways To Celebrate Pride Month!
Tue, Jun 23 8:52am

Dear PS 107 Community,

The Diversity Committee would like to wish our PS 107 community “Happy Pride Month!”

During this time of change it is so important to honor love and the voices that have worked and continue to raise awareness of our diversity and humanity. June 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the first Pride march, which was held in New York City on June 28, 1970 to remember the 1969 Stonewall Riots.

We are grateful to all activists-- those of the past and those who continue to advocate for the civil rights and protection of trans, femme, and LGBTQIA people today.

If you are looking for some books on Pride, here are some titles:

The Story of Harvey Milk and The Rainbow Flag by Rob Sanders

In Our Mothers House by Patricia Polacco

George by Alex Gino

Jacobs New Dress by Sarah Hoffman

And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson

This Day in June by Gayle Pitman

I Am Jazz by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings
