We asked; you gave--THANK YOU!

Dear PS 107 Families,

As we hit the halfway point of the 20/21 school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for your generous support of the Annual Fund. Even amidst a global pandemic and seemingly constant change, one thing has remained certain: The PS 107 community never fails to step up when asked.

The impact of your support this year is both nuanced and vast. Maybe you overhear your child soaking in a new concept while remote learning at home. Perhaps you experience the joy of dropping off your child at school, feeling assured that they’re heading into an environment that has been thoughtfully prepared for them and their teachers with safety in mind. Or, maybe you appreciate your child participating in PE online with Ms Diane, doing planks and running in place, knowing that they’ll get some energy out while having fun with a beloved icon of our school. In every one of these instances, the support of the Annual Fund has impacted the outcome, whether directly or indirectly, improving the experience for our kids, our teachers, and our community.

So far you have collectively given $157,500, gradually making our way towards our this year’s need of $200,000. This is fantastic progress! Many families have increased their support (some by inspiring amounts!) and some have given for the very first time (equally inspiring!)--and every single one of your gifts counts. We hope that you all are witnessing the impact of this generosity in the lives of your own kids, their classmates, and our teachers.

At last December’s PTA meeting, Principal Eve Litwack said, “We want to be able to do as much for the kids as we can every single year.” Thank you for helping make this challenging year no exception.

With sincere appreciation,

Elizabeth De Velasco

P.S. You may be saying, “Wait? Aren’t they going to ask me for a gift?!” Don’t worry--we’ll be in touch soon about support of the Annual Fund. Until then, we invite you to bask in our appreciation of this very special and very generous community.
