Art Day
Hello PS107 Families! It's that time of year again ... Art Day!!

On Saturday, December 2nd, 12-4pm, the school will be opened and classrooms transformed into arts-related workshops, activities and a performance space! This free, PTA-sponsored event only works when families volunteer time, talent and/or chutzpah to lead the workshops, assist the leaders, help at the bake sale or maybe even work the front door! (P.S. For volunteers ... coffee and doughnuts will be served!)

Take a look at the Art Day Signup on Konstella to see all the optionsthere's really something for everyone. If you are game to lead a workshop, but not sure if your idea will flycontact us! If you are game but have no ideacontact us! We have a bunch of ideas we would love to see happen. Please come and make the fun! Any questions, email Arts Committee co-chairs Becky Hutcheson and Sarah Harlow.

Does your child love to perform? PS107 Art Day also features performances in our school library. We have a few more spots for student performances and would love to see your child dance, play an instrument, do magic, etc. Please contact Nancy Lin to register.

Big Apple Awards
Do you know an amazing teacher who deserves special recognition? You can celebrate an outstanding teacher in our community by nominating them for the sixth annual Big Apple Awards, which recognize teachers throughout New York City who inspire students, model great instruction, and enrich their school communities.
Anyone can submit a Big Apple Awards nomination—parents, students, teachers, staff, and community members; and any full-time district, charter, or early childhood education center teacher may be nominated. A Big Apple Awards nomination is a great way to show your appreciation to a teacher for all they do! Submit your nomination online by Monday, November 27.

Community Outreach
The Community Outreach committee is partnering with New York Cares to bring relief to tens of thousands of New Yorkers through our 2017 Coat Drive. Drop off new or gently used coats (any size) during First Friday (December 1) and Art Day (December 2). To double our impact, Bloomberg is matching each coat donation from the PS107 community!

Don’t have a coat to donate, but still want to help? $20 buys one coat + a match = 2 coats  Click here to donate online. To make sure your donation is matched, be sure to enter Bloomberg – PS 107 in the "Department" section of the form. You can use your preferred email (where the form asks for a Bloomberg email).

Questions? Email Kim Berney-Brooke. To learn more visit: www.newyorkcares.org/coat-drive

Eat + Greet
Thank you to everyone who came out and joined in the fun at Eat + Greet last weekend, and an especially huge thanks to all of the wonderful hosts who opened their homes to fellow PS107 parents! This fabulous event would not have been possible without the awesome effort of Eat + Greet co-chairs Alyse Dosik and Heidi Igoe, and committee member Heather Glatter. Thank you for continuing this amazing PS107 tradition—we had a lot of fun and raised nearly $4,000 for our school!

Get ready for some extra magic this Wednesday, November 15th, when MathMagic! will be hosting a special math and logic game morning with our sponsor Brooklyn Game Lab. We hope that you can join us! And thanks again to Starbucks for donating the coffee to make the mornings even more magical for the parents, whose participation is greatly appreciated.
