You'll hear a comprehensive report from Principal Eve, announcements from parent coordinator Pamela Rosenberg, as well as news about PTA fundraisers, committee activities, and upcoming community events.

STEAM Day + Mystery Art Sa
Save the date for STEAM Day (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) on Saturday, February 3 from 12-3pm! This year’s theme is Inventors, Scientists & Innovators. Students and their families will enjoy learning about diverse STEAM thought leaders and their work through fun hands-on STEAM workshops. STEAM Day is also a great opportunity to get involved and volunteer!

This year STEAM Day will also feature a new Mystery Art Sale. Come to the preview during First Friday on Feb. 2 to get a sneak peek at all the artwork from local artists and students. The sale will take place from 12-3pm on STEAM Day and all sales are first-come, first served!

Heritage Day
PS 107’s cultural diversity will be on full display at Heritage Day on Saturday, March 10, from 12 to 3pm. Please consider:

  • Presenting a state or a country.  Share what’s unique about a place where you or your family lived. We’ll provide the display boards and a list of ideas. Email co-chairs Shelly Auster  and Desiree Cassese to reserve your space and start planning.
  • Performing on the 4th floor. We’re always looking to showcase student talent. In past years, PS107 students have performed Irish dancing, German musical theater, Brazilian capoeira, and more. Contact Nancy Lin if you're interested in showcasing a talent.

SLT Meeting + School Safety Meeting
Both the School Leadership Team (SLT) and the School Safety Team are holding their monthly meetings this Wednesday, January 24. Parents are always welcome to submit questions or topics of concern to their SLT parent representatives by emailing sltparents@ps107.org.

PS107 students will run for free, and parents and siblings will be asked to pay a $10 entrance fee.  Students in Grades 3-5 will run an untimed 5K (3.1 miles or 25 laps) from 9:00-10:30am.  Grades K-1 will run an untimed 3+K (2 miles or 16 laps) from 10:30am-12pm. Students in 2nd grade can choose either option.

If you cannot join us the day of the Fun Run, you can still help raise money and run the extra miles in gym class. Visit the calendar event page on Konstella for extra sponsorship forms and instructions on how to collect sponsors online. Thank you for helping to support our neighborhood YMCA!
