Committee Updates:

Africa Drive at Heritage Day
The Community Outreach Committee is partnering with the US-Africa Children’s Fellowship to hold a collection drive in the schoolyard this Saturday during Heritage Day. We will be collecting children’s books, school supplies of all kinds, soccer balls and soccer equipment, sports uniforms, toys and games, sneakers and shoes, and bicycles to help support education for young people in Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. Come drop off your donations in the big yard and then enjoy Heritage Day! Please sign up on Konstella if you would like to help collect and sort donations.

Chipotle Fundraiser
Come out for dinner at Chipotle next Sunday to help raise funds for the PS107 track team! From 4-8pm on Sunday, March 11, Chipotle will donate 50% of sales when you mention PS107. Bring the whole family and invite your friends for a fun weekend wrap-up at Chipotle on 7th Avenue and 2nd Street in Park Slope.

Fairway Community Partners
Mark your calendar, make your list, and shop at Fairway on Double Day, Tuesday, March 13. When you scan your PS107 Fairway Community Partners card at checkout on Double Day, Fairway will double their standard 3% donation to our school! Need a Fairway Community Partners card? Email Bobby@ps107.org or ask in the main office. Each card comes with two key tags to keep on your keychain and share with friends and family.

Fourth + Fifth Grade Book Club
The 4th + 5th Grade Book Club is meeting this Tuesday, March 6 at 7:30 a.m. to discuss The Watsons Go to Birmingham – 1963, a historical-fiction novel by Christopher Paul Curtis. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come to our next meeting regardless of whether you made it to the earlier meetings. Please contact Ann Givens if you have any questions about the book club.

Heritage Day
Get ready for an afternoon of global exploration this Saturday, March 10 from 12-3pm at Heritage Day! PS107 families will present more than 25 different countries and states through food, crafts, dance, and other demonstrations. It’s an amazing celebration of the diversity in our school community and lots of fun! Please sign up on Konstella if you can volunteer to help with set-up or clean-up.

Read-A-Thon
The 4th Annual Read-A-Thon ends tonight! Please add up all minutes read, figure out what each sponsor owes you, and collect your pledges.
